We love to dream about new things (experiences) that will make us happy for long time. But when desirable purchase or experience happened we don’t experience projected level of happiness. Also happiness gone fast. We are back to our regular level of happiness despite big achievement or desirable purchase. This is hedonic treadmill (the theory of hedonic adaptation).

Nothing last forever, especially happiness. In most self-help books mentioned that you should feel happy most of the time. That’s impossible. Some events makes us happy, some events makes us unhappy, but after short period of time we are back to our regular level of happiness…
