My today’s blog is not about finance. It’s about presher cooker (instant pot). Why? Because I witness on myself how dangerous it is. Pressure cooker explosion happens as well as instant pot explosion. None of this safe to use.

Pressure cooker is used to cut cooking time. Beans cooked just under 15 minutes instead of 1 hour in regular pot. But saved time is not worth of possible injuries because of high pressure inside the pressure cooker. Explosion happens because of 2 main reason: damaged pressure cooker or wrong temperature.

The temperature inside a pressure cooker runs approximately 40 degrees hotter than the boiling point of water, and the steam it generates, while necessary for rapid cook times, can be extremely dangerous. If pressure cooker’s lock, vent, lid, seal, or gasket is faulty, the pressure cooker can explode.

Pressure cookers are used for more than 300 years but it’s became extremely popular after World War 2 when convenient became an increased necessity. In India (I live here for last 5 years) pressure cooker available in every kitchen and used everyday. But problem happen when same pressure cooker is used for many years. In one point of time it will lead to the problem. Exactly like in my case. I’ve being using it once per week and everytime I was worried that it will explode. I was right. Also why would anyone eat beans everyday (for this purpose it’s used mainly)? There’s available variety of vegetables, fruits, diary, eggs, meat, etc. Way tastier and safer to cook food.
